Diversity & Inclusion

Danske Bank aims to grow a diverse and inclusive culture to mirror the societies we are part of and to create equal opportunities for our employees.  Nurturing a sense of belonging is essential to us. When people belong, they are comfortable with expressing themselves openly, freely and in their own voice and feel empowered to make a difference. We believe, that a diverse and inclusive culture will help us unlock the full potential of our employees and to become a better bank for all our stakeholders.

Examples of how we work with Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)

Diversity & Inclusion Council

The Global Diversity and Inclusion Council consists of representatives from all Danske Bank countries. The Council's priorities include ensuring gender, age, race and other equality principles, educating colleagues and the public on issues of diversity and inclusion.

Gender balance in senior leadership

Gender diversity is recognised as a multiplier for other areas of diversity. We have a global target for gender balance in senior leadership for 65/35 by 2023. Meanwhile, in Lithuania, this target already reaches more than 50 percent.

Gender neutrality in the hiring process

We are working to eliminate gender bias in recruitment by, e.g., providing recruitment training for managers, screening job ads for gender neutrality and ensuring a gender-neutral use of recruitment channels.

Rainbow families have equal rights

Rainbow families in Danske Bank have the same rights to maternity-, paternity- and parental leave as other families.

Rainbow Network

Our employees have established internal Rainbow Network for LGBT+ and allies in various countries, including Lithuania. 'Allies' refer to anyone who wants to support the LGBT+ agenda, inclusion and diversity in the bank.

Global Transgender Instruction

Danske Bank has implemented a Group-wide Transgender Instruction to provide workplace support for transgender colleagues and those in the process of gender transition.

Inclusion Day event

Danske Bank has initiated open annual events: we aim to open a public debate and express the position of employers by focusing on a different topic of diversity and inclusion each year.

Equal Opportunities Ruler & Equal Pay

Danske Bank received a score of 9.1 out of 10 in the Ruler of Equal Opportunities study conducted by the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson. For the third year in a row, Danske Bank is among Top 5 large companies in Lithuania, ensuring equal pay.
