At Danske Bank, we believe that change doesn't happen just by sharing common beliefs. It's about transforming those beliefs into meaningful actions. By being allies for each other and embracing openness, curiosity, and empathy, we create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. This is the cultural foundation we nurture within the organisation and aim to inspire others by prioritising social responsibility, sustainability, volunteering, diversity and inclusion.
Danske Bank focus areas
We believe that employee well‑being is essential to achieving great work. That’s why we focus on colleagues’ physical, emotional, and financial well‑being. We support a healthy work–life balance, encourage active lifestyles, and future financial stability. We aim to make such standards the norm for the country's employers and society.
We believe communities work best when people can be themselves and feel accepted and respected. As part of a diverse society, we aim to create a workplace where everyone feels safe and included, regardless of gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation, or other differences.
Danske Bank employees have the opportunity to devote three working days a year to volunteer work. We call it Time2Give - colleagues can decide where to volunteer, whether to do it individually or with a team. This way, we devote more than 6,000 hours to good deeds every year, encourage colleagues to be good citizens and take responsibility for the world around them.
We aim to reduce our environmental footprint by using more sustainable solutions in our offices, such as solar energy, rainwater reuse, and automated energy management systems. Healthy, unused food from our office canteens is donated daily to charitable organisations, and we encourage colleagues to choose more environmentally friendly ways of getting to work.
Sustainable and long‑term change requires financial solutions. In the Nordic countries, Danske Bank supports sustainability initiatives, invests in green projects, and gradually reduces activities linked to greenhouse gas emissions.
