The two‑day programme included meetings with national leaders, military volunteers and civic defence organisations, as well as a business and science forum aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and driving innovation between the two countries. The forum highlighted the growing opportunities in Lithuanian–Danish collaboration – from increasing trade to strategic technological projects, including Lithuanian‑developed laser systems already operating in Greenland.
As part of the state visit, Danske Bank Lithuania Site Manager Giedrius Dzekunskas was invited to the royal dinner in recognition of the important role Danske Bank plays as the largest Danish employer in Lithuania. Leading a site of nearly 5,000 employees and contributing significantly to the country’s economy (annual contribution of nearly EUR 300 million), Giedrius represented one of Denmark’s most substantial business footprints abroad. His invitation to the event reflected Danske Bank’s impact in Lithuania on technological innovation, talent development and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
I was honoured and humbled to represent Danske Bank at the events with the Danish Royal Family. In Lithuania, we often look to the Nordic countries when we speak about a healthy, caring society and strong cultural values. The informal, non‑hierarchical nature of Danish workplace culture is something our employees genuinely appreciate – it inspires many people here and shows how shared values and humble leadership can shape a prosperous society.
I have deep admiration for the Danish monarchy’s contribution to promoting Denmark’s values around the world, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help strengthen the relationship between Denmark and Lithuania.
Giedrius Dzekunskas, Site Manager for Danske Bank Lithuania
As part of the royal visit to Lithuania, a delegation from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) was hosted at the Danske Bank Lithuania campus. During the visit, the evolving business demand for future talents and skills was presented, and DTU executives were introduced to the work of the Command Centre and Cloud Migration teams. In addition, connections were established between DTU and several Lithuanian universities to support closer academic and industry collaboration.
The royal visit not only strengthened ties between the two nations but also spotlighted the meaningful role our Lithuanian site plays at the crossroads of Danish culture, innovation and local talent.
